Stove Installed

Well I thought it was a King brand stove, but it is a Sears and Roebuck. That is fine I will see if I can date it from a catalog. It is probably not that old, but it heats well.

The hey-day of these wonderful pot belly stoves were in the 1800’s. They were designed to heat large spaces and were often found in railroad stations, one-room school houses, churches, businesses, meeting houses and general stores. A cook lid on the top was used to heat water, cook food, and the warmth of the stove always invited customers and good conversation.

The ring around the middle of the pot bely was designed to prevent bumping into the bulge of the stove and getting burned.

Cross bracing on walls will be removed once my full shear wall nailing pattern is complete.
