That is fine I will see if I can date it from a catalog.  It is probably not that old, but it heats well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hey-day of these wonderful pot belly stoves were in the 1800&#8217;s. They were designed to heat large spaces and were often found in railroad stations, one-room school houses, churches, businesses, meeting houses and general stores. A cook lid on the top was used to heat water, cook food, and the warmth of the stove always invited customers and good conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ring around the middle of the pot bely was designed to prevent bumping into the bulge of the stove and getting burned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cross bracing on walls will be removed once my full shear wall nailing pattern is complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well I thought it was a King brand stove, but it is a Sears and Roebuck.
